Again, North Carolina makes the top inbound list….now if we could get people to move here with jobs!!!

Real average hourly earnings was unchanged from December to January, seasonally adjusted. Average hourly earnings rose 0.2 percent, offset by a 0.2 percent increase in the CPI-U. Real average weekly earnings was unchanged over the month.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 0.2 percent in January after being unchanged in December. The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.2 percent in January after increasing 0.1 percent in December.

This report is a sobering read about the jobs market in North Carolina. While we keep making the top “places to live” lists nationally, many of the transplants come here without jobs.
